The Mid Week News - 20/09/2017 edit
Right - time for the mid week news again. There’s a few new software releases this week to cover, plus a bunch of interesting blog posts.
Technology updates (details are on the relevant technology pages):
- Apache HBase has got a 2.0 alpha-2 release
- Apache Impala is up to 2.10
- Apache Kudu is up to 1.5
- Greenplum has hit the big 5.0
- Pravega has hit 0.1
Technology news:
- Details from Microsoft on the different messaging services in Azure
- Another from Confluent trying to explain how technologies like Kafka might change the analytics space, this time on why it’s ok to store data in Kafka long term
- Again from Confluent, and this is always interesting - details on how they test Kafka
- So it’s an advert for Waterline, but I think the principles are probably sound. From MapR - Why Atlas and Navigator don’t cut it
- CVE-2017-903 - Solr Kerberos issues with delegation tokens when using SecurityAwareZkACLProvider type of ACL provider e.g. SaslZkACLProvider
