The Mid Week News - 08/11/2017 edit 
It’s time to take my head out of MapR (updates and post hopefully coming tomorrow if I can push on though) and break for the news, although it’s a bit light this week…
Technology updates (details are on the relevant technology pages):
- The big one this week is that Apache Kafka has hit 1.0
- Apache Ignite has hit 2.3
- Apache Kylin has hit 2.2
